We have visited a real Nativity, real because there are real animals. We could see goats, donkeys, ducks, geese, peacock, turkeys, sheep and  a dromedary. We have learnt that a dromedary is different from a camel. It has got just one hump.

"The little Prince"

We like theatre. And we are so lucky that we could enjoy a play, "The Little Prince", in our own neighborhood, in the Sala Talia . We have worked about it before and after, because it´s the way  we could learn and understand.
We have found out all about the characters and the plot and we discovered that it is great. That helped us to better understand the play.

Halloween day at school: 
We went to visit our friends in years 3 and 4, and ... year 6 too. 
 Lucky us!! 
We sang our Spooky song and we got lots of things, presents, songs, sweets... and we could see all the decorations in our school. What a great day!

We went to the Library

We went to the Library, we discovered a lot of things, and we practiced how to look for a title with different informations, we looked for the information and we got the Title what was asked. Wow!
Funny and interesting. 
Now we can go to the Library and find  any book we like!!

Welcome Abi!!

We like welcome people who came to stay with us for some period of time, sharing things, feelings... and we thank them for giving us their work as a present. We appreciate them and we are delighted with them.
This year it´s ABI,  who came from Liverpool in England.
She is our English  teaching assistant  and she will be with us this school year till Mai once a week in each class.
She is beautiful, joyful, smiling and cheerful. She likes children, as she wanted to be a teacher and teach Spanish in England, Wow!!
Also she likes football, (Liverpool supporter, of course), and she told us that she liked Fernando Torres but now she does not like him anymore.
She likes pizza, strawberries, red color, and her favourite planet is Saturn.
We know many things about her, and we like her.

An organ is  a group of tissues to perform a specific function.
A system is made from a group of different organs, which all work together to do a particular job.

We visited the IES Sefarad

We went to visit the Secondary School Sefarad, where pupils follow a project about robots, leaded by their teachers Julio and Mati. They have had a prize this year designing, building and operating their designs. There is also a fantastic technology classroom where students make wonderful works like models or mechanical and electronic devices. We visited them and could enjoy a lot all they show us.





They have a 3D printer, a special digital machine that make pieces of plastic in three dimensions connected to a computer that manage and show the whole process.

Marta, Demetrio y Petal are happy chicks!

These are our chicks!! 
They are now very big chickens.
Petal and Marta, two beautiful female chicks and Demetrio a strong and brave male chicken!! The most important thing is that they are very happy!!



And so they were.

Spells

We invented spells in year two, pretending to be witches.

Baby Hamsters

Susana had two hamsters and she and her family have checked that they were male and female. 
They have now three small, cute and wonderful baby hamsters. 
And they would like to find a home for them.

We said goodbye to Oliver

We like to welcome people and say goodbye as well. We know that there are people who came to us and after a while they have to go. So we enjoy them and when the time is over, we remind them with joy and affection. 

Oliver´s time is over, we have enjoyed him a lot, we have learnt a lot with him and now... we wish him "good luck".

Casting

We have, also, a casting team. They have made the casting, choosing the best candidate for each role.

These young girls are studying IMAGE at Alfonso X el Sabio Institute,  and they have wanted to help us, they are delighted with the project. They came to our school to teach something about shots and scenes.

Our chicken are growing up very quickly. They are 16 days old!

The script

This is our film script. We have teams working very hard. The  casting is taking place. Stylists are designing clothes, sound, music, the mise-en-scène...

Chicken Licken

Chicken Licken had an accident, an acorn fell and hit his head. He thought that the sky was falling down and here an adventure started for him.

Underpants

Today Oliver has told us a funny story about Aliens. They love underpants, and when they come to the Earth, they don´t want to frighten us or anything from us but our underpants. They play with knickers and long-johns and if you miss one in your clothesline, it has been them who has stolen it.

On Monday we went to the plant nursery. It was a great fantastic trip. Good weather, lots of plants and much fun!!

Bees in our school

On Monday we had an unexpected event, we had bees in our school, a swarm of bees. The headteacher started our protocol and all the windows and blinds were closed, then a call to the green patrol, the town hall and the firefighters. The green patrol arrived and then the firefighters, and they decided to call a beekeeper.
He came, took the swarm with his own hands, put it into a hive and all the problem was solved. At night, when bees were into the hive he would come to collect it.
Uff.
But we have learnt a little more about bees.

The birth of our chicks

Today was the great day, chicks birth´s day and our first chick "Marta", we have decided to name it was born in the afternoon, it took the all morning because at nine we could see that its shell was broken.
We have been so lucky that we have seen it. It has been very hard for him to get out, really very hard. He was so defenceless, wet and weak...


 

The last time we change the eggs

On Thursday 30th, it was the last time we went to change the eggs. Only four days left. The day of birth is on Monday.

Our project about Marine and Polar Animals

We are learning about animals, specifically about marine and polar animals. We like stories, songs, videos, poems. So we focus our project in beautiful stories, "Hooray for Fish" By Lucy Cousins, "Tiddler" by Julia Donaldson, "Lost and Found" by Oliver Jeffers. We learn with them vocabulary, ecosystems, phonics, shapes, numbers... and how to protect our environment.

On Sunday, we are going to celebrate our Mother´s Day. We wanted to give them a beautiful present.

We have a great luck with Jose, he is so implicated with mothering chickens that he thought that we could check if our chickens were alive if we took a phonendoscope and heard their hearts. And he managed to look for it. 
Eureka!! 
He got it and we have heard them. So we know that now our chickens are alive, we could hear their hearts, it has been a great experience, our faces changed into a happy face when we could hear the beat.

Cultural Days

On 23 and 24 April, we have celebrated our Cultural Days. We have focused them on World Book Day, St George and traditional Fairy tales. We have had some workshops, a visit to our neighborhood library, a play that some parents from the AMPA have made and many others funny activities.

Mothering chicken eggs

We have learnt that birds reproduce by eggs and we are going to mother chicken eggs in an incubator. We have 12 eggs and an incubator with two bulbs,  some fans to distribute the heat and a thermostat and 21 days waiting. We need to turn the eggs and we have written on them an 1 and a 2 to simulate what a hen does and control the turn. Now we  have to do it for 18 days because the three last days eggs don´t need to be moved. In the afternoon and in the evening it is Jose Chozas, our concierge who does the turns. Thanks to him, we can do this.

Spring is coming to Infantil

Spring is here with its rain and wind, but also with its beautiful flowers. We have learnt plants and flowers and we want to share it with all of you. Enjoy! Because it´s really great!

We are crazy teachers and we are going to do a film, a real film.  Year 5 pupils  are the stars and they are going to do the work. They have chosen their roles and the first step is doing the storyboard of their ideas. And here they are.

When Easter is coming, Easter Bunny comes with his basket full of eggs. He also came to our school, he hid the eggs and we looked for them. Funny, very funny!!

13th March our own Red Nose Day

13th March arrived and we celebrated our own Red Nose Day.
We collected food for our Local Food Bank, we were dressed in Red, we did activities, painted our noses, our faces and we sang the Red Nose Day Song for schools.

St Patrick´s Day

St Patrick´s Day is on 17th March. St Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland, so his colours are green like all Ireland is. It´s said that he banishes all snakes from Ireland.

Year 2 pupils like playing stories, here it is this about pets.

Red Nose Day

On 13th March, it is Red Nose Day. It´s a special day for  raising money for charity making something funny. You can do everything you like, the funniest the better. We are going to dress ourselves with something red, and we will paint our nose in red but if you have one red nose at home you can bring it instead of painting it. Also, we can paint our faces in a funny way.
For charity, children can bring some non-perishable food, that the school will give to Toledo Food Bank.
We will sing the Red Nose Day 2015 Schools Song.

Decorate the Christmas Tree

The last day before Christmas was a very special day. 
We did an amazing Christmas Festival.




















We learnt an English Christmas Carol, "Decorate the Christmas Tree" and a Spanish one " El twist de Navidad". 

All of "Infantil" groups went to the gym, dressed in our Christmas costumes, to play our works and we also invited to Year One to see us. We played our shows the best we could.
